Two separate 6 round swiss system tournaments.


Rating

All grades are FIDE and NZCF Rapid rated where possible.
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.


Time Control

All grades 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

Notes:

  • No player may claim more than one monetary prize.
  • In the event of a tie, prize money will be shared.
  • Players eligible for more then one prize in a tournament would receive the highest monetary value prize.
  • The organisers reserve the right to shift a player to a different tournament if they feel an inappropriate one has been entered.

A & B Grade $50.  Please pay entry fees directly to the Papatoetoe Chess Club ASB Account: 12-3028-0428483-00 include your name as Reference.

  • Grand Masters & International Masters free (Entry fee will be deducted from any winnings over $100)
  • Entries close Friday 28th of November 2025.
  • Fully paid entries received by Friday 28th of November 2025 go in a draw to have their entry fee refunded.
  • $10 Late Fee if payment not received or shown by Friday 28th of November 2025.
  • No cheques or cash accepted.
  • No new entries accepted on day of play.

Players must be under the age of 20 on 1st January of this year.
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.


Time Control

25 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

  • Winners names are engraved on Junior Championship Trophy and Best Girl Trophy.
  • Winners take home engraved miniature cups.
  • Tie-breaks only apply to trophies and medals. Monetary prizes are shared if tied.
  • In the event of joint overall champions, all names are engraved on championship trophy.
  • Age group medals awarded in bands, e.g. a player eligible for under 14 cannot win under 16 prize.
